FRIENDS OF SHERBURN HIGH SCHOOL

The Parent Teacher Association is known as Friends of Sherburn High School (FOSH) and the aim of the Association
is to support the School during events and to raise additional funds to help pay for items for which the school budget
cannot stretch. Any parent with a child currently attending School is invited to join FOSH. In addition to parents, the
group includes a number of teachers and a representative from the Senior Leadership Team.

We are always looking for new members, so if you are interested in raising funds for Sherburn High School,
please come along to the next meeting which will be held in the conference room located near the main office.
Meetings are held twice a term and last around an hour. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served and like-minded, enthusiastic parents/carers will be there to welcome you. The meetings are a great opportunity to meet other parents/carers and staff, so please do come along and join us.

FOSH Bonkers Binghoul Event a Spooktacular Success

Friends of Sherburn High (FOSH) is delighted that the latest instalment of Ben & Barnett's Bonkers Bingo was another huge success. This time around, it was a Halloween Special including prizes such as slime and scary toilet seat covers as well as some of our favourite Halloween tunes. The Hall was decorated with cobwebs, ghouls, skeletons and even a ghostly, talking butler to add to the spooky feeling in school.

We were delighted to welcome many returning Bonkers Bingoers as well as lots of new faces to help raise money for the Sherburn Spruce Up. Prizes on the night included luxury chocolates, alcohol, a gnome, space hoppers, a life size Philip Schofield cut-out, £50 and a top prize of £100.

We dibbed, dabbed and danced our way through 5 thoroughly entertaining games of bingo, masterly called by our host, Ashley "Dr Death" Furness - and huge thanks must go to Ash for his superb hosting skills.

In total, we raised almost £2300 to add to the Sherburn Spruce Up pot - everyone involved with FOSH would like to thank all who came and made it such a fantastic night.

If anybody would like to join FOSH and help organise other wonderful fundraising events (maybe even the next Bonkers Bingo night!), we would love to invite you along to our next meeting which is held in school on Tuesday 19th November at 6.30pm. We meet in the Conference Room in main reception and can promise a warm welcome and a cup of tea!

Gin O’clock

This was the first ‘gin’ themed event held by FOSH (Friends of Sherburn High) and what a successful evening it was. Guests enjoyed sampling ten different gins from around the country whilst being entertained with music, games and a quiz. Also on offer were pizzas prepared on site, which had been kindly donated. The evening raised over £500. A huge thank you to all those who attended.

The money raised by the wonderful volunteers of FOSH goes back into school. Recent purchases have included; Cameras (£800) and a desk light (£1250). We are currently funding various items requested by different departments (£4500).

We would like to thank everyone for their support, we couldn’t do it without you!
