SHERBURN HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES ANOTHER YEAR OF OUTSTANDING GCSE RESULTS

Students and staff at Sherburn High School are celebrating today following the release of another set of fantastic GCSE results, continuing a remarkable five-year trend of high academic achievement and sustained performance.

Across all key measures, students have once again achieved exceptionally well. Our Basics 4+, 5+ and 7+ are once again very strong and testament to all of the hard work from our fabulous students and staff. These results reflect high success across all key metrics, outperforming national benchmarks while significantly narrowing the achievement gap for disadvantaged students.

Matt Gill, Headteacher, said:

"Since joining Team Sherburn in January 2026, I have been really impressed by the vibrant, dedicated community here. Today’s fantastic outcomes are a direct testament to the work ethic of our students and the relentless dedication of our staff, who have gone above and beyond for these young people long before my arrival. This day is entirely about celebrating our students' achievements and supporting each and every one of them with their next steps in education’.

John Ralphs, Long-standing Deputy Head, added:

"I am delighted with yet another set of stunning results, which open bright pathways for our students into higher education, apprenticeships, and beyond. This marks five consecutive years of sustained high performance. Achieving results well above national averages year after year demonstrates the consistency, ambition, and supportive ethos that define Sherburn High. We look forward to welcoming many of these students back in our Sixth form in September’.
