Sherburn High School Celebrates some great A-Level and Vocational Results

Students and staff at Sherburn High School are celebrating a fantastic set of A-Level and Applied General examination results for the 2025–26 academic year, marking significant improvements across all key performance measures. 

The school saw substantial growth across academic and vocational pathways, reflecting the dedication of students and the hard work of teaching staff:

Over a quarter of all grades were awarded at A*-A, significantly up from the previous year.
58% of entries achieved A*-B grades, a major increase from 38% in 2025.
80% of all entries secured A*-C grades, significantly exceeding the 64% recorded in 2025.
The overall A*-E pass rate reached a perfect 100%, up from 99% in 2025.
Matt Gill Headteacher said, "I am immensely proud of our Year 13 students for these brilliant results. The notable rise in top grades, along with our 100% pass rate and exceptional performance in Applied General qualifications, is a testament to the continuous effort of our students and staff. These outcomes ensure our school community continues to thrive and that our students are exceptionally well-prepared for university, higher apprenticeships, and their future careers."

And Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, Lydia Jackson said: “It has been a pleasure to work with these students over the past two years. Today is about celebrating achievements and supporting everyone's next steps. We will miss them all and look forward to hearing about how they are getting on as they enter the next stage of their adult lives.”
