Welcome - Message from the Head Teacher

Welcome to Sherburn High School!

Sherburn is an 11-18 comprehensive school of around 800 students and I am immensely proud to be its head teacher.

Our stated aim is ‘Achievement for All’. We think that achievement is about all members of our community, both adults and children, reaching their full potential at what ever they do.

The simple ingredients at Sherburn are:

• Challenge for both students and staff

• High expectations of everyone

• Fun and enjoyment

Mr M Sibley B.Sc

Our recent Ofsted inspection (March 2011) highlighted the strengths of our community:

‘This is an orderly and caring school. Students are keen to learn and behave well in their lessons. Relationships are strong and students feel safe’

‘Students are polite and friendly. They have a clear sense of right and wrong and, through their behaviour show that they value others. They are well prepared for life beyond school’

‘Staff have created a welcoming environment and new students settle quickly’

We think this says it all. If you would like to come and see for yourself, do get in touch!
We hope that you find a visit to our web-site useful and informative. If you have any feedback, ideas or suggestions for additional content please get in touch at websitesuggestions@sherburnhigh.co.uk
