OFSTED Parent View

Parent View gives you the chance to tell OFSTED what you think about your child’s school.

Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. OFSTED will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect and when.

A Message from the Headteacher


Welcome to Sherburn High School!

 

Sherburn is an 11-18 comprehensive school of around 775 students and I am immensely proud to be its head teacher.

 

Our stated aim is ‘Achievement for All’. We think that achievement is about all members of our community, both adults and children, reaching their full potential at what ever they do.

 

The simple ingredients at Sherburn are:

 

• High expectations of everyone

 

• Quality learning experiences

 

• Fun

Our students tell us they enjoy coming to school. In a recent externally conducted survey their response was ‘exceptional’ compared to similar schools in 11 out of 32 areas surveyed; a further 18 areas were rated ‘very good’.

 

Amongst others, exceptional responses were received in the following areas:

 

• Community spirit

 

• Developing confidence

 

• Looking after students well

 

• School discipline
