"This is the start of something exciting for Sherburn High School"

We are delighted to announce that the school has secured £5,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. This will enable us to conduct a feasibility study into increased community sports use of the school site.

A Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to Sherburn High School!

Sherburn is an 11-18 comprehensive school of around 775 students and I am immensely proud to be its head teacher.

Our stated aim is ‘Achievement for All’. We think that achievement is about all members of our community, both adults and children, reaching their full potential at what ever they do.

The simple ingredients at Sherburn are:

• High expectations of everyone

• Quality learning experiences

• Fun

Our students tell us they enjoy coming to school. In a recent externally conducted survey their response was ‘exceptional’ compared to similar schools in 11 out of 32 areas surveyed; a further 18 areas were rated ‘very good’.

Amongst others, exceptional responses were received in the following areas:

• Community spirit

• Developing confidence

• Looking after students well

• School discipline

This just about sums us up! If you would like to see for yourself do get in touch.
