It began with nervous expressions and ended with smiles and euphoria. Our GCSE students have performed extremely well despite the unprecedented circumstances that this cohort has endured. The sense of relief was palpable as students opened their results envelopes, many having been worried for months about what today would bring. Most students admitted to being anxious after the A Level results were announced last week and expected to be downgraded from their Centre Assessment Grades; thankfully their worst fears were not realised and we now have a very happy year group who can move forward into the next phase of their education.

Headteacher Miriam Oakley commented “I am so proud of all our students and wish them all the best for the future – their resilience, good humour and hard work has paid off!  I’d also like to thank their parents, carers and all the staff, who have supported them on their journey – Team Sherburn at its best!  I can’t wait to see so many of them again in our Sixth Form and to learn of their future successes!”
