In November of Year 7 students are invited to take part in the Year 7 residential to Bewerley Park a 5 day/4 night trip to the heart of Nidderdale near Pateley Bride.
The trip is run by North Yorkshire County Council and the centre has good facilities for eating, sleeping, recreation and study. The daytime activities are run by centre staff and the evening mainly by Sherburn High school staff. Whilst there, students have the opportunity to:
Take part in team building activities.
1. Form relationships with their peers.
2. Gain confidence.
3. Have the opportunity to taste leisure activities for later in life.
4. Meet some National Curriculum areas of study in both outdoor activities and environmental studies.
Activities will take place at:
1. Bewerley Park
2. Howstean Gorge
3. Brimham Rocks
There are opportunities for orienteering, hill walking, water activities and Jungle Gym – all run by trained staff.
Places on this trip are limited so please register your interest early by attending the parents evening on June 13th in the Main Hall.
