Design & Technology Key Stage 5

Work and study a variety of textiles materials to understand what influences the choice of materials in design situations. You will have the opportunity to work in both two and three dimensional forms, engaging in creative activities in which ideas take forms, which satisfy the claims of originality, excellence and utility.

Product Design: 3d Design

Design and Technology offers candidates an opportunity to gain personal satisfaction and a positive experience from working with a variety of materials:

• Use innovation, creativity and design and technology capability.

• Understand the influences from a historical perspective and in current practice.

• Develop an understanding of production processes, a range of technological activities and industrial practices.

• Use information and communications technology (ICT) to enhance their design and technological capability.

• Develop critical evaluation skills in technical, aesthetic, ethical, economic, environmental, social and cultural contexts.

• Develop as discerning consumers able to make informed choices.
