LEO Likes Learning Literacy Together
We have a consistent and firm focus on teaching literacy in all subjects helping students make excellent progress in developing their literacy skills. Our aim is to provide students with the literacy skills they need to be successful right across the curriculum, thus transforming our students into better speakers, listeners, readers and writers.
Finally, LEO, our Literacy Education Owl is also very important and was the winner of the competition to design our literacy mascot. Whenever you see LEO you can be sure that Literacy is being reinforced across the school. Our school follows a varied programme of activities; last year students voted for a House Author, designed homophone cartoons and decorated their form doors in honour of their favourite books. We have a number of lovely activities for this year too so please keep an eye on the website across the year and promote reading with your own children as much as you can.
