Year 8
December 07:
Speakeasy Dragons The Year 8
students had a fantastic day using their business acumen to create a new
product, design it, finance it and target
a market, Then promote this to the Dragons in the style of
the television programme Dragons’ Den.
This was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their
entrepreneurship skills.
The Year 12 and Year 13 Enterprise students helped encourage
and offer support to the Year 8s.
March 08: Leeds United and A4e
Students worked with Leeds United and A4E to learn how to run a football team
successfully.
In Session 1, students worked with A4E to create the team by buying players
and other employees; they managed the budget and designed a new stadium and
kit.
In Session 2, students practised physical skills and team work and learned
about healthy lifestyles.
March 08:
Dragon Tamer
In conjunction
with NYBEP, students have been asked to create a new product. In DT lessons,
students will be focusing on producing a product
aimed at helping
the elderly or less able that is environmentally friendly or connected with
road safety. NYBEP will select the teams that will be helped to develop their
projects over the next few weeks. These teams will present their ideas to the
year group and two teams will be selected to represent the school in the Selby
District Final in July. The prize is £200 for the winning product and
design.
